How do i apply pressed powder eyeshadow?

I only know how to use liquid. How do i apply pressed powder eyeshadow?
You can use your finger or a brush just get some on your finger or brush and apply in a circular movent to your eyelids make sure you put your mascara on after you apply eyeshadow and make sure its a thin layer not a big thick clumpy thingHow do i apply pressed powder eyeshadow?
I find that the best way would be to use a wet eyeshadow brush, or a brush with a sponge in the end. Especially since you're going to be on stage, applying eyeshadow wet will make it look more pigmented and brighter. Also, having an eyelid primer when using ANY type of shadow, can also help the colours look brighter and more pigmented.

Anyways, depending on how you want to apply your shadow, brushes are better to help you blend colour so it doesn't look as harsh on your eyes, or to help you can blend it beside other colours without having hard lines. On the other hand, a sponge generally picks up more shadow than a brush, so you would be able to apply more colour onto your lids - this is a good, controlled way to apply shadow if you just want to use a couple of brighter colours.

If you don't have either, then the second best way would be to use your ring finger and layer, layer, layer! This doesn't allow for too good blending, however, and it does depend on how you're going to wear the shadow whether if this works well or not.

I hope this helps!
Apply from the inner corner of your eye and move toward the middle of your eyelid. Then apply form the outer corner and move toward the middle. Keep doing that until you have as much eyeshadow on as you want. With the stage lights, your eyes will looke shimmery because there is more eyeshadow on the corners and less on the middle. You can use a brush, but your finger can work, too.

always find a color that will bring out your eye color.. then apply it but not too much..you still wanna keep it natural so you're just enhancing your beauty. if you want a more smokey look for going out on special occassions use this site which gives you a step by step process http://www.xanga.com/RiceBunny/592799684鈥?/a>

you don't have to use the exact colors, improvise.. use more browns if you like [=How do i apply on eyeshadow?
get whatever color you choose. then get an eyeshadow brush. Start at the very bottom. (it's ok if u accidentally get it on ur eyelashes cause u can just put mascara over it.) make the strokes from left to right until u come to the crease. Go left to right on the crease. If you want to shape it so it doesn't look bad, lick ur finger and shape it. If you want it to look even better, get the tip of the brush, put eyeshadow on it, and put the eyeshadow right under ur eye. It gives it a glow to it.
Sweep a touch of shadow over your lids to accent eyes. You can define them, add drama and make them stand out in a few quick steps.

    Instructions

    Steps

1Step OnePrime the eyelids by dusting them with a small amount of loose powder.

2Step TwoSelect a light base shadow. Using a shadow brush, sweep it across your entire lid, from brow to lash line.

3Step ThreeUse a medium-toned shade to cover your lower lids.

4Step FourContour the crease of your eyelid with a dark shade, using a smaller eye shadow brush. This color can also work as an eyeliner (see the next section for instructions).

5Step FiveBlend shadow by stroking the lid gently with an eye shadow brush. Don't use your finger, you could wipe off the shadow entirely.

6Step SixUse a cosmetic puff and a little pressed powder to tone down heavy shadow. Shake any excess powder off the puff, then press it gently on your lid.
Get a quality brush. Sweep a darker color on eye lid; then apply a lighter shade in corners of the eye and under brows.
Do you use a eyeshadow applicator or your fingers? Sometimes the eyeshadow applicator can be a bit tricky to use if it is too small. Try applying your eyeshadow wet with a bit of water to ensure that you can get the full look, but don't make it look like too much. Take your finger and gently smooth it across your eyelid. If you want to go EXTRA one day you can even take a different eyeshadow color and put it slightly underneath your eyelashes or in the corner right before the beginning of your eye for a cool look!

    Enjoy!

Eyeshadow is one of the easier cosmetics to put on, so once you master that you should be fine!

How to apply white eyeshadow to make eyes bigger?

ive read so many times that putting white eyeshadow somewhere on your eyes makes them appear wider and more ';awake';...if so, how and where do you apply it?

i already put powder under my eyes to stop the black shadows and disguise them (on days that i have them) so where do i put the white eyeshadow?

thanks guys L:)How to apply white eyeshadow to make eyes bigger?
...and along with what skinnym was saying, Carmindy on TLC's What Not to Wear sometimes uses a dab of the white shadow on the inside corner of the upper lid, on the part of the lid above the tear ducts, and then does just what skinnym said. It looks pretty good, and I've tried it.How to apply white eyeshadow to make eyes bigger?
Apply right above the inner corners of your eyes, on the area right below your eyebrow (where you can feel your brow bone) and right below the outer corners of your eyes. You'll be amazed at awake and alive you and your make-up looks with color in these subtle places.
you need to put on the white shadow on the inner corners of your eyes and right below your eyebrows. that will open up your eyes and make it seem bigger. oh and for those under eye circles, they make special concealer for that you know.
Start on your eye lid, and work your way up towards your brow bone. Once you blend it in, your eyes will look a lot bigger!

Go to youtube! You can find all the different ways to properly put on make up! i even found out how to do my hair. Its great with helping. Check out makeupbyrenren on youtube, she is great! For me i find the best way to apply foundation is to first warm it up on the back of your hand just by rubbing it then make sure there are no lines when you rub it on your face by using a make up sponge( you can find really cheap at almost any grocery store with make up isle) Then i apply concealour under my eyes and only blemishes, its important that it does not look cacky so i use the sponge to help blend it then i use compact powder to seal it all in. I hear that loose powder is better so you could try that. Then with blush, do not get something to red, since you said you always look like a clown, maybe try a bronzer for blush, it looks really great. I get compliments on that. Also you could apply a light shimmer to your cheek bones (make fish face to help apply). If you did your eye shadow and it looks too dramatic or uneven get a medium size brush, like a blush brush and wipe your eyes with it to calm it down and even it out. Light shimmer on your eyes, can do wonders and make your eyes look great! trust me. Hope that helps!

Start from the inside corner and work your way out, you can use the little wand that comes with some of them, I use a light color for a base then shade in the inside arch just to the bone with a darker shade. I use a shadow brush for this. if you want really hands on advise, set up a appt at a MAC store for a make up makeover, and ask them to guide you step by step through it. You can get good shadows for less money, but I think their brushes are essential!!!!

pick 3 colors...that work well together.

ill give you an example of what i do.

first, i put a glossy glittery tan color all over my lid.

second, ill throw in a fun color, like pink or green...whatever...and put that in the middle of my lid.

then, i take a dark brown and put it in the corners to make it kinda smokey and give it depth.

lastly...i take the first color, with BLENDING brush...and blend them together.
umm u just glide the brush against ur eye lids.... its not htat hard ... i think u wasted 5 points XD

i usually will apply the darker color to my eye lips first, after that only draw a line for both side of my eyes lips...but i dont draw whole line, just from the middle to end...

this can make eyes balls look darker..like me..i am chinese but my eyes balls dont look black but brown color instead...so..eeverytime i apply very dark green and then i used v dark brown color eye liner pen..afterall, my eyes look big and very black color eyes balls.
take it and put it on your eyes....

    in layers?

ya know with the diff. shades.

like lets say 4 shades of purple; i can never do it right, yo!!!

aha thanks.Would someone please tell me how to apply eyeshadow?
Sweep a color similar to your skin tone (or a touch lighter) over the entire lid from lashes to browbone. Start at the bottom of your eyelid and work your way up.

Sweep a light white shadow (shimmer or matte, your preference) directly under the brows from the middle of the eye outwards. This is your browbone highlighter and will help to open up the eyes.

Take the next darkest color and sweep shadow across the eyes from lash line to the crease. Blend well outwards.

Apply dark shadow. For the most impact, the darkest color can be applied to the crease of the eye from the corners to the outer edges, blended well. Blending is key to avoid a drastic line across the crease.

The second option is to use the darkest shadow to create a sideways ';V'; on the sides of the eyes.

Lightly apply shadow to the outer third of the crease and blend into the outer edges of the eyelid, creating a sideways ';V'; shape (The pointed end of the v would be pointing away from the eyes, to help visualize). This helps to define the shape of the eyes, and makes them appear bigger by bringing the focus outwards.

Finish with a careful application of eyeliner to the top lid in a complimentary color. There are so many fantastic eyeliner colors available today, so experiment with what is out there.

Plums, greens, and browns are flattering to many eye colors. Tilt the head forward while looking down, and dash short lines along the last line to avoid drags and smudges.Would someone please tell me how to apply eyeshadow?
light over lid, darker at crease, then line top lid along eye in darkest, blend all slightly with a soft brush...
Here's a video I did with two shades of purple http://www.prettybycritty.com/posts/29
you put the darker colar on JUST you lid, then you blend in the next lighter colar just above it, and so on and so on. once you get to the third layer, you start putting it on the skin above you eyelid. so its on your eyebone.
hmm try searching for eye makeup tutorials on youtube.com

no matter how i apply eyeshadow i never get it right and im like 20 now

any tips or ideas will be great

Thank you xxxWhat is the best way to apply eyeshadow???
I have learned that I only look good applying eyeshadow 2 ways - a light, shiny color on the lid only (no crease or brow bone) or using the outside V effect. Basically for the V, you take the medium color of eyeshadow you will be using and apply it all over the top lid. Then you take the darker color and make a sideways V where the point is the outside corner of your eye. Make it go halfway across the lash line on the bottom of your top lid and make it go all the way across the eyelid in the crease, gradually getting lighter as you go towards the center corner. This is the best illustration I can find, but I just use 2 colors as I described:

    http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y157/te鈥?/a>

The illustration shows a light color on the lid, medium in the crease and a dark V. I simply do medium color on the lid and the dark V and do not use a light color. What is the best way to apply eyeshadow???
It depends on whether you want an evening or day look. I like light blue for day as it is a nice contrast, and gold and copper or smokey grey for evenings. See the website below for a color guide.

When applying, the best trick ever is to use a wet eye shadow brush. It makes the color stick better and makes it brighter.

Where your palette has 3 different colors from light to dark, apply the medium one all over movable lid, then the dark one as a line in the crease, and the lightest shade underneath the highest point of your eyebrow. Just a small dot or streak is enough.

    Good luck!

PS: L'Oreal sells ';made for me'; make up where you can choose the right eye shadow palette for your eye colour plus matching lipstick, and they explain how to apply it too. Available in boots and superdrug!
I don't know what you're after so your best bet is to go for a neutral brown as it will work in any situation and suits most people (I find No7 trio in Good Earth perfect, alternatively try Urban Decay in Hazmat). Take a good eyeshadow brush and dust the lightest, neutral beige over the lid up to under the brow. Then, with the brush, dust the medium colour like a taupe over just the lid up to the socket. Take an eyeliner (black or brown) and line the rims of your eyes. Take a sponge applicator or a cotton swab and apply the darkest shade (chocolate) over the liner to blend it and take away any harsh lines. Finally, take a good black mascara (Maxfactor 6000 calorie, Lancome and Clinique all do wonderful mascaras) and apply two coats to the top layer and one very thin layer to the bottom.

    Hope this helped=)
    green eyes :O you're lucky.

for green eyes, greens are your best eye shadow colour. to really brighten your eyes try a deep khaki or forest green. brown, apricot, purple, and plum eye shadow will also enhance your eye colour.

for eyes that stand out more, eye shadow colour for green eyes are gold, lime-green, really light green, and bright purple.

firstly apply some concealer onto your eyelids, for this will hold the eyeshadow longer. then sweep the eyeshadow over the entire lid from lashes to browbone lightly. start at the bottom of your eyelid and work your way up. repeat this until you have the amount and shade you feel looks good on you. put mascara on last.

    hope this has helped.

it all depends on your eyes... i personally apply a lighter color to right under my eye brows, as well as right along the lash line... then i use a darker color in the crease and blend evenly, then i use like a black right at the outside corner of my lash line on the top and bottom... really thinly. then finish with mascara. i also know people who use a lighter base color all over then use a darker color on the outside corner of the eye and blend inwards (as opposed to the crease)

i would say just take a day where you arent going anywhere and just play with it. try something, then take it off, then try something else! have fun with it. its like art! thats how i learned how to do it. i just expiramented on myself. =)
use a size 1 paintbrush - it really evens out the colour and puts it exactly where you want due to its small size.

put a dark line right next to your eyelashes (instead of eyeliner) and use that same colour getting paler as you go up. Stop at the crease of the eyelid.
lightest color as a highlight (brow bone)

next color on lid (up to crease)

    next darkest color in crease

    darkest color outer v

    : )
Go on Youtube and search makeup beauty tutorials. You will find plenty of help there x
I say choose the best one for you.

How do I apply Neutrogena quad eyeshadow?

I think I have the ';Tea Biscuit'; brown color. I have fair skin and blue eyes. I use a little bit of brown eyeliner and mascara currently. I like understated makeup for the most part but I need help for my senior pictures.

I just don't understand the directions on the makeup and when I applied it like I saw on What Not to Wear, I looked like a raccoon. How do I apply Neutrogena quad eyeshadow?
This eye chart can help you: http://www.temptalia.com/tutorial-refere…

    You should have four colors in your palette. They are labeled ';Base';, ';Highlighter';, ';Crease';, and ';Accent.';

    1. Natural Look: Apply the ';Base'; color on your eyelids. Apply the ';Highlighter'; color above the ';Base'; color. The ';Highlighter'; color should be under your eyebrows.

    2. Casual Look: Apply the ';Crease'; shade on your crease. There is a little ridge that is like a half moon.. The crease would be under your eyebrows. Apply the shade called ';Accent.'; on the outer corners of your eyes. Use whatever shade you want for your eyelids.

    3. Smokey look: This look requires the ';Accent'; and ';Highlighter'; shade. Apply the ';Accent'; shade on your lash lines. Apply it on your upper and lower lash lines, like how you would apply your eyeliner. Apply the ';Highlighter'; shade on the inner corners of your eyes. The inner corners is the tear ducts on your eyes, it's near the bridge of your nose. How do I apply Neutrogena quad eyeshadow?
there is a basic way to put on eyeshadow when you are using more than one color....use a very light color (white, light pink, light gold) to put on your brow bone and inner corners of your eye...this will brighten up your eye making it look more awake. next, put a light-medium color on your lid (for example light brown) next, use a darker eyeshadow (for example dark brown)) to pur in the crease of your lid for define the eye...make sure to blend all of it out to make sure there is no harsh lines....put on a little bit of brown eyeliner (or probably none if you are using dark colors) and a little big of mascara. use a nice bright pink peachy color for your cheeks (the apples of your cheeks...you can find the little round thing is the apple of your cheek when you smile) bright blush will help brighten up your entire face making you look happy and bright (use a light hand when applying) a little bit of sheer gloss (go light since you have fair skin) will finish the look. hope this helps!!! :)
Did you blend the colors together after applying them? Blending is the key when you're applying different shades of eyeshadow. Once you've applied all of the colors, use a blending brush to get rid of the different colored harsh lines and provide a gentle more natural looking transition from one color to another.

  • How do You Apply Liquid Eyeshadow?

I just bought some and have always wanted to try it, but I have no idea how to apply it? any tipsHow do You Apply Liquid Eyeshadow?
use your finger and just smudge it onto your eyelid

then wait a second while it dries before opening your eye again :)

hope it looks pretty! How do You Apply Liquid Eyeshadow?
For the best results: only apply it on top and use an angled brush with eyeshadow or a pencil eyeliner on bottom. When I apply the liquid, I close one eye and use the other to see with. Some keep both open. It's a personal choice. I push the outside corner of my eye to where my eye is tighter and I can see my lash line better. This helps tremendously. Then I start with the inside corner and work my way out. To give yourself a flirty look and to make your lashes look longer, make your liner curve up at the end. If you want a clean look - you have to make sure you let the liner dry before you open your eye! If you don't it'll smudge. If you want a smokier look - smudge it some. The good thing is - if you mess up it's easy to fix. Just take a cotton swab, apply makeup remover, and fix the mistake. I hope this helps you! Good luck! :)

Liquid eyeshadow sucks. It gets all creasy and gross at the end of the day. i feel like im putting butter on my eyelide. And if you put a little under your eye it smears. they should have neve invented this stuff. Poweder eyeshadow is much better for your skin and looks prettier. Trust me, throw the stuff away. Although. If you have a light color, you could use it as a brow highlighter. Test it out on a day when your not seeing anyone to make sure its for you. Its not for me at all.
its very simple, but requires a little bit more care then stick liners do. you just take out the little brush and and gently draw a thin line where you desire. apply thin lines first and add on as you go, because this stuff is messy in case you make a mess...or..mistake. you know what i mean.

these liners are also super fun for facial art. say if you choose to draw designs on your cheeks or what not. just express your creativity.

    have fun.
if you're right handed hold the liquid eye liner applicator with that hand and use your left to hold your eye, (hold your eye like making yourself look Chinese because your eyelid is smooth surfaced easy to apply) sounds silly but hey it goes on smoothly.
if its watery liquid just use a small about and let it dry before you blink too much, if its a more mousse-y texture than apply it as normal, but allow it to dry alsoo.

when you want makeup to look natural you always work with shadows, not lines. so what you need to do is turning lines into shadows and dots. hence considering your eyelashes brown or black:

get a Flat/ Bright sable brush no. 4 or 3, may be brand Arian no.4. draw short lines beside each other with a water prof pencil eyeliner at the back of your hand and then gently scrub the brush on the lines. then using the brush gently draw a smoky shadow under your eye. after that using a very sharp waterproof eye pencil draw a very thin line through your eyelashes n be careful Cross the eyelashes line. finally draw dot lines through your lower eyelashes line with a eyeliner 2 numbers darker than your eyelashes.

now your set n done.and if your hair color is light work with brown n light brown eye pencils. just remember while applying the more softly you work the more dainty Ur result would be.

Where i come from,i.e the North west part of Pakistan, men apply black eyeliner, called SURMA in these parts on a regular basis because it is supposed to be good for the eyes and they dont look feminine at all.The trick is to use a match stick thin applier and to apply it only on the inside pink part of the eyes ever so slowly and carefully.Dont use that furry stick which comes with the cosmetic mascara or eyeliner, use a match stick or something equally thin.

    Cheers.
first off no eye liner is masculine and neither is eye shadow. I mean girls dont really want to date a guy wearing the same make up that they were. And if you are doing it for your friends thats even stupider.

you can't apply eyeliner+eyeshadow with out looking like a girl/ladyboy
create a geometric design-don't apply it as a girl would-- be bold- thick and heavy and do not blend-- but if you are a boy why are you applying make up?? Please don't get me wrong I am only curious.
some guys do need to wear makeup, its fine.. just people are not quite used to it.. stars like nelly wears eyeliner and concealers..

but to apply makeup.. its best to use pencial to give it a more natural look.. and apply thinnly as possible.. your goal is to make it less obvious that your wearing it.. dont press hard, just draw like you would when you sketch a drawing and draw as close as you can to your lashline.
It is always going to look rather prissy or camp no matter what you do.
well, women usually wear eyeliner that is very fine....a thin, black line that is directly on top or just below the eye. my ex boyfriend used to be in an emo band and he wore makeup all the time...in fact, he wore eyeliner and some really bright red eyeshadow. the point is to make it smudged....the more perfect it is, the more you will look like 1)you tried WAY to hard and 2) you will look more like a girl than a cool guy. Draw a thick line above (and below if you want to) the eye and smudge it. and if this piece of advice doesn't help just look at pictures of the new jared leto, that should give you some idea.

    good luck!

How do I apply cream eyeshadow?

It's kind of hard/sticky... is there a way to soften it? Do I use a brush, sponge, or my fingers to apply it?.....Also would it still look good if I just used shadow, without the liner or mascara? How do I apply cream eyeshadow?
You can use a brush but the only problem with this is that the cream eyeshadow will more than likely crease as you will put too much on and not work it into your eyelid enough.

I like to use my fingers for applying cream shandows. This way you can really work the eyshadow into the eyelids and blend it in pretty good which will make creasing less likely. How do I apply cream eyeshadow?
i just use my fingertip with cream eyeshadow. but don't use as much as you would with the powder kind, because it goes on thicker and stronger.
I would also say to use a brush it goes on very nicely i would use the mascara with it but in moderation!
    i love using cream eyeshadow.

powder is messy, and sometimes it falls on your skin.

i always just use my fingers when applying cream eyeshadow, so i can put it where i want it.

you can skip the liner, but eyeshadow and mascara pretty much go together. (:
You are supposed to use a stiff yet soft brush to apply cream eye shadow as who really want finger bacteria near their eyes? Be sure to use a primer and translucent powder to set the cream otherwise it will crease halfway through your day. I would say you can skip the liner, but don't skip the mascara as shadow and mascara have different purposes and without mascara the look would be a little incomplete.
you probablly need a primer which makes the eyeshadow stay and go on better....and if you maybe did a two toned eyeshadow it would look lovely without liner maybe a gold and a pale pink but i never go out without mascara on

What is the best way to apply taupe eyeshadow for someone with dk brown hair and eyes?

    Hey,

I would wear it as a part of a subtle look for your eyes. To ensure you don't go over-the-top, keep the eyes neutral and emphasise your lips with a bright lipstick or lip gloss. I would use light taupe over all your lid, and blend in a darker shade into the outer corner of your eye. use a tiny amount of the darker shade under your eye as a eyeliner using an eyeliner brush. Only go halfway across the underneath of your eye. It gives a stunning look, I use it all the time.

To complete the look wear a bright crimson lipstick. This will make you look very sophisticated because of the dark eyes and hair you are so lucky to have.

    Hope I've helped!

What is the best way to apply taupe eyeshadow for someone with dk brown hair and eyes?
You could wear it as part of a subtle eye make up look when you wear bright lipstick. Use light taupe all over the eyelid, with a darker shade blended in the crease, an optional thin line of black eyeliner on the upper lid only, and black mascara.

With red lipstick it will look sophisticated, but if all your makeup is neutral coloured I think it will look boring, because I also have dark brown hair and eyes and I need some bright colour to not blend into the woodwork. We can also wear bright eyeshadow colours if the lips aren't overdone.

To get a subtle smoky eye, you might want to try a gray cream shadow. Jusr sweep it over your eyelids using your fingers. That way you don't have to be precise. Good luck!

Line the eye that looks smaller b-e-l-o-w the lash line on the bottom lid. This will make it look as if it is bigger, but not massive. Use, if you can, semi wet eyeshadow. It will fill in the creases on both your eyes, and give you a real open-eye look. ;] Hope that helped ...

It's best to get a good firm synthetic haired brush that is made for emollients and creams. Maybe something like MAC's 242 brush. Fingers are not good to use in makeup, especially this kind as it will harvest bacteria. Otherwise you would apply it the same way as a powder but try not to use alot as it will probably crease up after a few hours.

What is the best way to apply eyeshadow ??

    Tell me about :-

    1) Dark colors like black, purple, etc.. (how should i do the blending part and what colors should be used together).....

    2) Lighter colors like pink......What is the best way to apply eyeshadow ??
The lighter colors can be used heavier and higher on the eye without looking bad. you want to make sure that you dont go all the way to your eyebrown, but depending on the look you are going for, make sure to have the outside of the eyes shadow higher up towards the brow bone.

For darker colors, always use the lighter of the colors on the inside of the eye. and the darker ones on the outside, to help you blend properly, make sure to use a base (like tan or a see through shimmer). Start with the light color and do one swoop of color from the inside of the eye all the way to the outside. The get the darker color and start from the outside and come about 1/4 of the way into the center...make it dark and then do the light color up to the dark again (it wont be blended yet) then what you will do is take an eye brush (looks like a blush brush but smaller) and go from the inside to the outside (so that the lighter color goes over the darker) and brush do this about 4 times, then do one light brush the opposite way (dark to light) it should be blended right now. Make sure that the darker color goes all the way up to the crease of your eyes, the lighter color should be slightly below the crease. (remember to line your eyes first)

Another thing to remember is when you are looking at these dark eyes, they arent really using black, they are using a charcoal grey with very little hints of black.. so make sure you are looking at the right colors

    Good colors to use are

lt purple, drk purple and charcoal (do the same blending but have dark purple in the middle)

lit purple and charcoal (not black almost like a steel grey)

    blue and black or charcoal

hot pinkk and charcoal. What is the best way to apply eyeshadow ??
Professionals say the best way to apply most make up is with brushes. Put your medium color on the eyelid, your highlighter color on the upper lid between your actual lid and your eyebrow, then with a brush take the color darker than the medium that's on the lid and slightly close the eye and brush inward from the outside just where they bone indents into the eyelid. You can then slightly brush the actual eyelid on the inner and outer corners too but don't take it over the middle.

The same rule applies for your lighter pinky colors. Pick the dark, medium and highlighter colors and apply with the same directions as above. I have many make up books by artists such as Bobbie Brown and Kevin Aucion if you'd like more info from me you can click my face and email me. I love make up. I'll be glad to help you.

    A few eyeshadow makeup Q's

    How to Apply Eye Shadow

Applying eye shadow can be a little tricky. But it needn't be if you know the tricks involved.

Difficulty Level: Easy Time Required: 5 minutes

    Here's How:

    1. Before you start, dust eyelid with a dampened brush and a little face powder. This will help to prevent your shadow from melting.

    2. Choose three shades in the same color family - light, medium and a darker shade for contrast

    3. Apply the lightest shade on the entire lid from brow to lash line.

    4. The medium shade is going to bring out the color of your eyes. Apply from lash line to just above the crease.

    5. The darkest color is going to be applied close to the lashes. Dampen the brush and then pick up a little color. Smudge it in around the lash base. If you have bags beneath your eyes, you might want to only line the top lashes.

    Tips:

    1. Use a touch of gold shadow on the brow bone to make your eyes look even brighter. You can use powder or one of those fat pencils. I have even used that liquid highlighter in a bottle and it gives good results too.

    2. You might notice a tendency for your lids to appear somewhat crepey. This makes shadow application more difficult. To counteract this, stay away from bright colors. Subtlety is what you are looking for at this point, as softer colors are far more flattering and less aging.

    3. Pearly shades are great for highlighting the brow bone and opening up the eye area. How do you apply eyeshadow?
brown eyes usually look good with colors such as

    gold

    purple

    dark blues

and dark brown mixed with light brown

which brings me to how you mix it

dark colors could go on the inside of your eye while the lighter shade is higher and more outside the eye or vise versa...

    mix it up a bit...

just expirement on different styles of eyeshadow and different ways of applying it...

just take a day to play around with it..

    you'll learn =]
Blondes with blue eyes should opt for browns and taupes while those with green eyes can go for soft mauves and lilacs.

Blue eyeshadow should only be worn only if you either have fair skin, black or platinum hair and brown or gray eyes or very dark skin.

Don't match your shadow with your eyes or your clothes so that attention remains with your eyes and not your makeup!

Emphasizing the inner corner of the eyes to make them look closer to each other. This can be done by applying a neutral base color over the whole eye and then dust a medium color on the inner half of the eyelid and blend it outward. You can then use eyeliner to line the lid from the inner corner of the eye to the middle and blend it outward.

For day makeup, base color and mascara are the only things you need to wear for eyes.

High quality powder eyeshadows can be used wet for heavier application by dampening your applicator a little.

Lighter shadows help the bigger while darker shades make them look smaller. For bigger eyes, sweep a light shade over lid and darker shade on the outer corner of the lid and the crease. Outline the eyes using the eyeliner on the outer side of upper and lower lids while tapering a bit on the outside the eye to elongate it. Dab a white or cream shadow in the middle of the brow bone as a last step.

Neutral shades like browns and beiges look natural while brighter shades like blue and green look dramatic and artificial.

On mature skin and puffy eyelids, avoid using iridescent, frosted, light colors and white eyeshadows and opt for soft matte colors instead.

Only use cream eyeshadows that do not cause creasing upon application and should be coordinated with powder shadows that are to be used on top of them. They should be applied using fingertips.

Sweep a light or medium-tone shade on the lid and slightly darker shade above the eye crease to downplay the brow bone. Eyeliner should be thick in the middle of the eye and tapering at both ends. Add light highlighter to brow bone.

To add definition to your eyelids, apply a medium-toned shade across the lid and brow bone and dust the under brow area with a light highlighter shade. Use a very fine pencil liner of natural color to line the upper and lower lash lines.

To glamorize eyes for night outs, add shimmer to highlight your eyes.

To lift up tired eyes extend the color from the outer corner of the lid upwards to give them a feline shape. A light highlighter on the brow bone without the eyeliner brightens up the eyes. Concentrate mascara on the inner corner of the eye.

To make them look wider apart, keep the inside corners of the eyes lighter than the outer edges. Apply concealer one shade lighter than your skin at the inner corner of the lids and the sides of your nose and blend it well. Use a matte medium to dark eyeshadow and stroke it outward and slightly upward from middle of the lid to its outer half. Use the eyeliner a bit in from the inner corner of the eye and make the line tapering up and out a bit past the outer corner of the eyes.

NEVER match eyeshadow to your clothes! it just looks tacky!
U can apply eyeshadow with ur finger or this brush thingy.

Im not sure on how to mix them.Since u have brown eyes u might want to try gold or green. What i like to use is pink or purple cuz i have brown eyes to.
when you buy eyeshadow, an applicator will come with it. this is what you will use to apply eyeshadow. pick a neutral color first until you get used to appling eyeshadow. browns and beiges look best. put a light beige color all over lid inner to outer eye and to eye brows. then use a light brown or darker beige from inner to outer eye to the crease of your eye lid. then use a darker brown in the crease of your eye to the outer corner and along the eye lash line. it will look like a sideways '';V';.
    :) hi hope this helps

I like bright vibrant colors and use either my finger or a applicator. You can swipe your finger over the eyelid to blend it in.
i usually use eyeshadow to accent my outfit, but make sure they arent crazy colorrs, and make sure the eyeshadow insnt really vibrant. i have brown eyes, and ive never had a problem with the colors i use, as long as they aren't really vibrant...my favorites are browns, pinks, and grays with blue accents

-first i use an eyeshadow sponge to apply a medium shade to the eyelid, the darkest shade to the crease, and the lightest shade to right under the brow.

-then use a straight brush to apply a shade beween the medium and dark colors to the area under the brow (except the area right under where you already applied)

-then use a tapered brush and swipe over the whole eye...this blends the color, makes the colors less bright, and makes it look more natural

    How do you apply eyeshadow?

Curl your lashes, apply mascara, and SMILE!How do you apply eyeshadow?
Using your ringfinger, place a little blob of the mousse onto the back or your hand, as if it were a palette. Dab a small amount from your hand onto the tip of your finger and simply smooth over your eyelid.

The cream based white mousse you have will really look great dabbed onto the inner corner of your eye - they'll really make your eyes pop :)

It could also be used as a base for a smokey eye look.

Have fun and experiment with it :)
    Hello,

Dab your ring finger, or any finger, into the shadow and strokes your finger over the lid to apply. Blending the product out by stroking it out will remove most of the colour and make it less noticeable.

Experiment on a day when you're not going out.

But start lightly, from the base of your lids to the lower brow bone, lightening in shade/color as you go.What is the correct way to apply eyeshadow? ?
start of with a light color for example light brown, nude, white (if your going for a natural look) or light grey, grey glitter, white (if you want do do smokey) and apply it from underneath the inside of your eye, all the way to the top and out, stopping a little over/angled to where your eye ends on the other side. Then take a medium color shade for example brown, purple, dark grey and apply it only on your eyelid. Then take a darker color for example dark brown, dark purple, black and apply it to the crease of your eye.

    hope this helps =)
since ur 16 and scared to experiment then go natural or sometimes u can go bold if u use the right shade. it depends on ur skin tone. for natural go with a goldish color. they always say to start at the brow bone, but i only put it on the lid. it is better and doesnt look like ur wear tons of make up

it's hard to explain here, because it depends on the shape of your eyes. but the basic is to dot on some color at the outer corner of ur eyes then blend them in.
easiest way is with your fingers.. but if you must use a brush.. use a thick course cutting brush and edge them in the corner and blend them inward. (fingers is best though)

There is a dance coming up at my school and i want my eyeshadow to look good. I have hazel eyes if it helps!!!What is the best way to apply eyeshadow?
This video on how to apply it may help. Have a great time! What is the best way to apply eyeshadow?
First of all, do not use the applicators that come with the eyeshadows. Buy an eyeshadow brush. Maybelline makes eyeshadow quads that have a lid color (apply all over lid), a brow bone highlighter which, you guessed it, you blend onto your brow bone, a contour shade which you blend into your crease, and a darker shade you can use as a powder liner if you want. In that case, you can use the pointy applicator that comes with the eyeshadow. For hazel eyes, which I have, I always go for greens and purples if I want a dramatic look, but all colors look good.
Smear a small amount of vaseline or eyeshadow primer over your lid. Rub your sponge into the eyeshadow you want (purple is nice for hazel eyes) and gently dab it on, so it sticks to the vaseline/whatever

    OR

Rub a soft brush/sponge into the eyeshadow, then slowly spread it across, like your painting

Always remember to rub it onto the eyeshadow, don't like, dig it in (Y)
Using your finger is a good way to have control over where you want to put it. It always depends on the color and or multi colors and how dark. You just need a good straight make up brush thats not to big and just apply it from corner of the eye and out. Remember to blend, use a little at first and then get darker, not dark then light, because that doesnt work. Or if you dont want to cover the whole eye, a q-tip works well if you just want to have a line of eyeshadow. Make sure what ever you use, flick the brush or q-tip to get the extra powder off, so it doesnt fall in your eye or on your cheek. Have fun at the dance! ps. a little mascara goes a long way.
I usually use my pinky finger. Those little sponge-stick things they give you are useless. I also like to use an eye shadow brush to apply to my crease. You should go to Walmart and get one of the shadow combos that tells you which colors to apply where. Almay has one especially for hazel eyes. It's three different shades of grey - I love it (I'm hazel too)! Apply the lightest color all the way from your lid to your brow (a color that just about blends with your skin tone), the next darkest to your lid, the next darkest to your crease. I like to add a touch of the lightest color the the inner corner of my eyes. If the inner part of your lid is a little lighter than the rest of the lid it makes your eyes look bigger and set farther apart. But the key is blending.
oh cool, you should use a q-tip. use one side of it, damp with water and apply. then the other side should stay dry and you can put on a second coat with that side. it will make the color stick and look more dramatic, like how the color appears in the case. you can use it around your eyes with precision. also, to make ';smokey'; eyes you can use an angled brush or those covergirl perfectblend eye liner pencils. the consistency of the pencil is rich and the spongey tip on the other end is the most perfect tool for blending. have fun! :)
If you go to http://www.youravon.com/drodcay and then click ';shop by brochure';, and click on the blue Avon brochure, find pages 6-7 or 50-51, they show pictures on how to apply eyeshadow. Lots of great colors to choose from and the Heavenly Soft Eyeshadow Trios are an awesome price!

try using natural semi-shiny tones: browns, tans, and cream colors. or if your feeling brave, try purple but not an obnoxious shade. try using a bristle-type brush. start with a base color, a light cream shade for example. apply from lashes to eyebrow. use your darkest color in the crease of your eye, but don't get it too wide. then use another lighter color to apply from the crease to your brows.

well, to apply eye shadow u gotta use brown first of all. apply the lightest color of brown (a tan color) right under ur eyebrow. then, apply the second darkest color to the lid of ur eye (a regular brown, sorta light but not too much). last, apply the darkest brown to the crevis in between ur lid and the part under ur brow (only do this if around 20 and if ur younger, try it and see if it looks good). last, u can apply the medium brown eye shadow to the side of ur eye.

The way I do it is cuz my lids tend to get oily sometimes..so I put some loose powder on them and then put on the colour a bit, and then on top of that put on a little bit more powder so it stays on..never liquid eye shadow either obviously, cuz it smudges right off.
There's a cool site that let's you try on different colors and styles of makeup on your own photo. It's taaz.com. You can also try on different hairstyles and colors. Good luck!
i put concealer first.. to hold the shadow.... then i put the lightest color first.... at the crease do a line w/ the darker shade.. and then blend it with the medium shade... gosh did that make any sense? LOL...
Smokey eyes always works..%26amp; it doesn't have to be black! You can do it with the variety of colors that go with whatever you wear! =]

Its simple but the best way to get a visual idea is to watch youtube videos on how to apply eyeshadow. How to apply eyeshadow?
    Hey,

First, it's always good to have some concealer before you start, I prefer to dab my eyeshadow (that way it doesn't fall into my face and ruin my foundation.) I highly recommend Barry.M Eyeshadows, they are beautiful, bright and the glitter always adds a perfect touch. Dap your eyeshadow on the crease of your lid, which forms a smokey eye affect. Slighty smudge with a finger, I always like to use the same eyeshadow for the bottom of my eye.

    Hope i helped x
Apply eye shadow on your lid for starters. Then you can get creative with the crease by adding a darker color. Put some of the dark eye shadow in the outer corners in a v-like shape. Wear a light eye shadow under your eyebrow as a highlighter. Be sure to blend all of this lightly with a brush or a sponge-tipped applicator.
IM THE SAME WAY BUT BLUE EYES AND BLACK HAIR. BUT I USE BLAK LIQUID EYELINE TO MAKE CAT EYES, THEN WITH BLACK PENCIL I LINE THE PINK PART OF UR BOTTOM LID, I USE HIGH LITER (WHITE) SHADOW UNDER MY BROWS AND OCCASIONALLY I USE THIS NEON PALETTE OF EYESHADOWS BETWEEN THE HIGHLITER AND THE EYELINER. ITS PRETTY BOLD BUT IM BOLD. :] PS IF U LIKE THE MORE NATURAL LOOK THEN PUT PINK BLUSH BROWN EYELINER AND WHITE SHADOW ON UR LID
i used to have the same problem ! you should watch youtube videos ! my favorite makeup guru is http://www.youtube.com/user/fafinettex3

You can use the tip of your finger if you don't have the applier. Dip either in the eye shadow and then close the eye you plan to put it on leave the other open and rub your finger or applier on your closed eyelid.
guess and check!! thats how i figured it out. its a little different for everyone!! :))
First you need to buy a Wagner Power Brush. Then pick-up a gallon of your favorite color paint and load it into the Wagner. Fire that baby up, face the paint gun at your eyes and blast away. Be sure to mask off the areas you don't want the paint to get on with that cool blue painter's tape and you should probably put a couple of drop cloths around the bathroom ... especially behind you ... just in case you over-spray! I hope I've been a help ... good luck!

    How do you apply eyeshadow?

I am 11 years old, and blonde with green eyes, I am trying makeup for the first time for a change. I was wondering what color shadow, and most of all, how do you apply it on your eyelids right? Oooh, and what kind of mascara? I thought blondes were supposed to wear like a brown kind.....and one mre thing, what do you do when applying mascara? Sorry for all those questions! LOL I will be thankful for helpful tips, pictures, videos, etc.!How do you apply eyeshadow?
Sweep a touch of shadow over your lids to accent eyes. You can define them, add drama, and make them stand out in a few quick steps.

    Application on Entire Lid

    Steps:

    1. Prime the eyelids by dusting them with a small amount of loose powder.

    2. Select a light base shadow. Using a shadow brush, sweep it across your entire lid, from brow to lash line.

    3. Use a medium-toned shade to cover your lower lids.

    4. Contour the crease of your eyelid with a dark shade, using a smaller eye shadow brush. This color can also work as an eyeliner (see the next section for instructions).

    5. Blend shadow by stroking the lid gently with an eye shadow brush. Don't use your finger'you could wipe off the shadow entirely.

    6. Use a cosmetic puff and a little pressed powder to tone down heavy shadow. Shake any excess powder off the puff, then press it gently on your lid.

Eye Shadow to Line the Eyes

    Steps:

    1. Choose a medium or dark shadow color to line your eyes.

    2. Use a small, flat, angled brush for the application.

    3. Stroke the brush over the eye shadow.

    4. Start at the inside edge of your upper lid. Angle the brush so that the longest tip follows the shorter end as the brush moves across your lash line. Bring the brush to the outer corner of the eye.

    5. Create a more dramatic line by wetting the brush before stroking it through the shadow. Mist a small amount of water onto the brush, or dab it into a few drops of water and proceed with the line. The shadow may feel wet as you draw your line, but it will dry quickly.

    Overall Warnings:

Don't share eye makeup or tools'you can unknowingly transfer eye infections such as pinkeye (conjunctivitis).

If you get shadow in your eyes, flush them gently with tepid water.

    Tips:

Apply a moisturizer on your eyelids first. It will make the eye shadow easier to absorb, making the color more visible!!How do you apply eyeshadow?

ok just put it on ur eyelid's and dontput it on the uper part of ur eye's . or elsu will look wird

umm..ok, well for eyeshadow I would go for a brownish/tan or a lime green, it will bring out the color in ur eyes. To apply it, start w/ ur base color over the whole eye and most important, get a darker color in the crease, and then right below ur eyebrow put a lighter color, like a lighter tan or a white, maybe you can even get away w/ a light blue. umm..for mascara I would go for a black/brown cuz I'm blonde too and that's what I use. When I apply mascara I keep my eye open but since ur just starting I would close my eye a little and just keep it open a crack, and then apply directly to ur lashes! k, well good luck and I hope all of my tips will help u!

Hi! My older sister told me that blondes should wear brownish-blackish mascara. She gave me her Clinique stuff and its really nice. don't use too much because it looks scary : ) and take the brushy part and kind of ';pet'; your eye lashes with it. Good luck!
sure looks like that on ur avatar....
Oh that is easy! since you have green eyes you need more of a shadow do a thin line of black or very dark brown, do a little bit bigger(just a tad) forest green then a light light mint green up to your eyebrows try t out it is pretty

What is the correct way to apply eyeshadow?

ok, first what color of skin are you? Are you looking for a natural look or a ';going out / party'; look? well you pick out...i'll say 3 colors, one really light then a medium to the first color and a dark color.

    1st* LIGHT COLOR

    2nd* DARK COLOR

    3rd* MEDIUM COLOR

Then close your eye and apply the 1st color on to your entire eye lid (even under your eyebrow).

After that youll put your 2nd color on your eyelid but only where it creases!

And then, you see where your eyelash's are? well youll put a strip of your 3rd color above where your eyelash line ends.

WELL GOOD LUCK!! =)What is the correct way to apply eyeshadow?
First make sure you have eyeshadow. There isn't really a correct way to apply eyeshadow so just do whatever you feel like. What is the correct way to apply eyeshadow?
this depends alot on the shape of you eye and eyebrow, you could have an arch, straight line- deep set eyes etc...

    lime_kittyboo3@hotmail.com

if you want more info and i can help you with the shape you have and some great application tips
there are many ways depending on what effect your looking for. you can go simple and just put on the colour you want on your lower lid and your done. or you can be more creative and use 3 to four different colours positioned in different spots of the eye. and blend of course. its hard to explain without an eye graph for me to show you. but i will try. so your lower lid you have to ends and a center with me so far. so take one colour you like lets say a darker colour for starters you can put that on the edge of the eye i mean towards the end of the eye and then in the pupil area where your eye would be if its open you add another colour something lighter perhaps.. and in the corners of the eyelid you add what ever colour you want something sheer is always nice. in the middle of the eye now you add another colour and you can sweep this up and away or keep it within the area itself. the top is done in another colour and you can do the inner top one colour and use another colour for the outter perimiter.

You really have to try different colours and blending some go well together others look terrible. so pretend your an artist and your creating a nice eye look. hope that helps
you shut your eye and apply it to lid but also the new look is not to just apply it to the lid, you also apply it to the skin under your eyebrow, it will look cute, trust me on this one
first you wan t to start with a white base. put it from the tip of your eyeball to the eyelash. them aplly your color all over the eyelid to allite below the brow. if you have a trio, do the same only star with the lightes color.
close your eyes wide and apply it above the eye and you can also try to open your eyes and apply it to the top
    i use my finger.

What is the proper way to apply eyeshadow?

I always thought you should apply the lighter shade on your eyelid, then blend it in with darker eyeshadow as it goes out towards your eyebrow. What is the proper way to apply eyeshadow?
its darker to lighter cuz then it fades away kinda smokey like

and its prettyWhat is the proper way to apply eyeshadow?
...you put the darker shade first because the whole point of putting the lighter one is to make it lighter

if you put the lighter one first then the darker one covers the light one completely.

otherwise, there are many other different ways of applying eyeshadow.
Your supposed to take the light color and apply it on your lid and right under your eyebrows. Then take the medium shade and apply it on your lid only. Then take the darkest shade and apply it to your outer crease and blend inwards. Hope I helped :)
u put the lighter shade(like white) underneath ur eyebrow u put on the dark eyshadow and then the light(like oulining it.

  • What is the best way to apply eyeshadow?

In case you were wondering, my eyes are a very deep hazel/green color and the eyeshadow I want to use is a rich forest green...how should I start? What is the best way to apply eyeshadow?
i would use a small blush brush. it applys the eyeshadow evenly and lightly so you dont have to worry about it being to dark. What is the best way to apply eyeshadow?
I also have hazel/green eyes and deep greens really make them pop! when i use green eyeshadow i first apply a lighter color from the brow line to the lid, then a purple color on the eyelid, and then the darker green in the crease, this may sound weird but it does look nice:) I use Almay that is specificaly made for hazel eyes.
mix it wit a light color green first...and add more and more!! to the kind you want... Dont put dark on without puting light and getting darker...Wit fingers! or little tool thing!
-sweep a little bit of pink on your lids

-take a deep chocolate brown and put it on your crease

-take your green and starting for the middle of your lid sweep some outwards blending into the crease

    - take the brown and put it on you upper lash line and take your green and put it on you lower lash line
    with your hands
The best way to apply eyeshadow first and foremost is by using brushes. FYI, do not use those cheap little sponges that come in those shadow cases, look at it as painting a house with a brush or a sponge. Also, I always you 3 shades, put the darker shade on the lower lid but don't go past the crease, the lightest shade under the brow, and then use a soft metallic, bronze, or golden color in the crease and gently brush over the entire eye lid as a finishing touch. With the rich forest green but that on the lower lid, then but a light green or tan under the brow, then in the crease and as the finish use a bronze or metallic over it or you could always go with a metallic green. A good way to decide whether to go with a more gold or silver to finish is to match it with your jewelry.
first of all use a brush dont use the lil things they give u with the eyeshadows thy dont do nothign for u and they dont work right also u did pick a good color for ur eye color! start lik ur applying eyeliner and do ur darkest color there then just get another color klik maby a light brown and mix with it i think that owuld loook really good with ur eye color! hope i hhelped!

How do you apply eyeshadow so that it looks nice? I have brown eyes if that matters. Serious responses only!?

i have brown eyes also and i just try and play with color alot. i really like doing pink and green eyeshadow together, also pink and purple. golds and browns. i have found that i stick with one technique but change the color up. i put one color on the inner corner of the eye and fade it across the lid, then put another color on the outer corner of the lid and fade it to the middle, then add a light color under the brow for a nice highlight. i never use liner just a nice coat of mascara. also when applying eyeshadow the best thing to do is to blend so the colors looks seamless. hope i helped, if not u can email me ashley_d692001@yahoo.comHow do you apply eyeshadow so that it looks nice? Do a dark shade on the bottom and a lighter shade on top. also outline your inner eye (bottom lid) with the lighter shade. that will open up your eyes more and will look realy nice. How do you apply eyeshadow so that it looks nice? I have brown eyes if that matters. Serious responses only!?
i like white eyeliners..it helps to open up ur eyes..
First apply primer and figure out your eye shape, and what you like about them. Then bring that out.
First apply eye primer. My favorite is Urban Decay's eye primer found at Sephora stores or Sephora.com for like $13. Then use a brush applicator, not the sponge applicators. The softer the better, but you don't need to buy the expensive brushes that they have at Sephora - you can find great brushes at a drug store like Walgreens. If you go to a Sephora, you can ask someone who works there to actually show you how to apply strokes of eye shadow best. Have fun!
Ok for me..ha im asian buh yea im a make up putter..you put the black outliner around your eyes darkly..so its dark then after put eye shadow on your top lids...any color...design it in a way you like..try it..it will look nice...with brown eyes..
I always do two different colors. For instance I'll do a settle red closest to my eyelashes then fade it to brown till I reach the crease of my eye. To make it unique I have this little gold powder that's really light. Be creative but just use complimentary colors.
The best color for brown eyes are purple/violet shades, green shades, and golds.

How to apply eyeshadow to bottom lid??

hey I'm 15 and kinda new at this makeup. The only thing i really dont know how to do is apllying eyeshadow on my bottom lid( with it looking really messed up). I also don't know how to use my eyeshadow as an eyeliner(without having to buy a clear liquid eyeliner). So all my make-up artist and mothers and anyone who can do great makeup.... HeLp!

Thank uHow to apply eyeshadow to bottom lid??
By bottom lid do you mean lower lashes? I'm not sure what you mean by bottom lid.....

If you want to put eyeshadow as a liner on your lower lash line, then use a small brush or Q-tip, and put right under lower lashes, and blend.

If you mean eyeshadow on you eyelid right near your lashes, then just do the same thing. If you want a smokey or smudged look, you have to blend blend blend....and blend good!!! You could do a darker colour in your crease, and then blend, that gives a smokey look.

Not sure if that's what your looking for!!!!How to apply eyeshadow to bottom lid??
take a really thin brush and use it for your bottom lid also using that brush you could use your eye shadows like eye liner i usually add alittle bit of water (like put a little dab on the counter and dip the brush in it its just alittle bit) and put it on that way the color is more noticeable!!

    http://www.maccosmetics.com/templates/pr鈥?/a>

    http://www.maccosmetics.com/templates/pr鈥?/a>

one of those brushes would be great!!
Try a thin liner brush. Wet it and then dip it in the shadow. Then apply it right under the lashes. Make sure you blend well so it's subtle and not extremely noticable. Make it looks soft and pretty, unless you are going for a smokey eye look, which in that case you will have to blend a lot.
Don't try the eyeshadow under your eye- I've tried it too and even though ppl say it the cool thing to do it really doesn't look that hot. If you want to use eyeshadow as a liner, try getting an eyeliner brush. Then get the brush wet and put eyeshadow on it.

you can give yourself a virtual makeover at http://www.marykay.com/adonner

There are lots of tips for applying eye makeup based on eye shape. There are also application tips for lip makeup as well.
Well, first, here are some websites:

    beauty.about.com

    www.sephora.com

    www.mac.com

    www.clinique.com

Hopefully, these will help. Also, here's how you should do it. You'll need:

    copper/bronze/fleshy-colored eyeshadow

    mascara

    highlighter

    white liner

    white eyeshadow

    applicator (brush)

    liner (black or brown)

First, apply the white shadow all over lid. Then, apply your copper-colored shadow very low on your lid. Add a highlighter under the edge of your brow. Use your brush for these steps.

Then, use the white pencil around the tear duct. To apply liner, brown on the bottom, only near the edge (this is optional) and apply black on top, very close to your lash line. Finish off with mascara.

You can also go to Sephora and ask them questions. Clinque will do your make-up for free-but be polite and buy something, too. Your friends may also know a thing or two. The TV show on TLC-What Not To Wear-also has great advice.

There are also videos on www.youtube.com

Try Differtent Magazine websites (ALL magazines have them) like GL, Seventeen, YM, CosmoGIRL, Teen Vouge, etc.

I do mine with lighter colors in the teardot and under the brow, and darker colors closer to my eye. NEVER use red, always use bronze when you want a darkish color. Violets are okay when you're using them for a smokey eye effect ONLY.

You also have to use colors to match you skin tone. For instance, lighter greens work well with African-American skin and Peaches, Pinks, Lavender, and NEVER blue work for Asian. Best of luck!

Put darker colors, such as plums and violets, navy blues, deep greens, and browns (never reds) on your top lid, and closer to your lashes. Using a clean brush, sweep darker colors to the outside your of your eye and slightly under your lower lid. Go with lighter, neutral colors, like baby pink and peach in your teardot, and under your brows. Then you apply eyeliner...making sure it complements your eyeshadow colors. Good Luck!

    Thanks! Report Abuse

Whatever colors you bought, put the darker one along the crease of your eye. Put the medium shades or lighter shades right above your lash line. The lightest colors blend just under your brow. Blending is the key! Any colors you apply, blend well so that there are no distinct lines.

Whatever you do, do not use too much of the dark color. You will look over done if you have dark shadow from the crease all the way up to your brow. Use the liner after you finish with the shadows. Keep it simple. : )

is the matte eyeshadow from makeup forever good?Is it always necessary to apply eyeshadow primer before applying any eyeshadow and also...?
It's not always necessary to apply a primer before your eyeshadow. If you do not have oily eye lids then you more than likely do not have issues with creasing and therefore it's not always necessary.

Makeup Forever's eyeshadows are all fantastic.

What do I use to apply creme eyeshadow?

I would use my finger. An eyeshadow brush is meant for a powdered eyeshadow. What do I use to apply creme eyeshadow?
well.. you CAN use your fingers but be careful wash your hands before. if you have dirt on your fingers then it may enter your pores encouraging pimples to grow.

or then you can use just an ordinary eyeshadow brush! make sure it is a seperate brush because then the colour will mix with the next eyeshadow you are applying!

    hope i helped!

Yes, a eyeshadow brush would be fine! If the sponge doesn't work for you...don't use it. When you use your fingers you can get your face dirty and you don't want that.

I actually find eyeshadow mousse best to apply with a lip liner brush, odd i know. It gives a better all over colour and feels softer.

=]What is the easiest way to apply eyeshadow mousse?
I had a hard time putting on my maybelline mousse eyeshadow and the best way i had found was to use my fingers!...sounds weird but its the only surefire way to smooth out all those lumps....after its all smooth get a normal eyeshadow brush and blend it in properly..
How about trying one of the mousse eyeshadow pens - they're so easy to use. I've tried the M%26amp;S ones but am sure there are plenty of other brands available.
use a small professional eyeshaddow brush. Good/cheap ones can be found at Target (for example). That will allow you to put the mousse on more evenly. Hope that helps!

if you put a light powder conceler on first, then no moisture or oils will be on your eye lid and then it will be able to get applied a lot smootherDoes anyone know why when I apply eyeshadow it goes blotchy? ?
You may have oily or dry eyelids, which makes it hard for eyeshadow to stay on too long. Its good to apply a primer before you put on eyeshadow. primers make your eyelid smooth and give something for your eyeshadow to grab onto. This helps prevent creasing or blotchiness. Two good brands are Urban Decay Primer Potion and Too Faced Shadow Insurance, although they are kind of expensive - $17

Companies have products called eye bases, which are neutral colors. They are cheaper than primers, and they have the same goal of preventing creasing, fading, etc. But personally i would recommend eye primers even though they are more expensive

I've got sleepy/droopy eyes. How should i apply eyeshadow to reduce d droopiness/sleepiness of my eyes?

I also have upper eyelids like that, when I really take time to repair that part of my face I line the lower lid with a taupe color, the upper eye lid I cover with a light shade, not white but more of a subdued ivory, then in the outside corner make a small triangle (wide part on outside of the eye) with a muted tangerine color. This will draw attention to your eyes, and make your eyes seem more open and light. I really love my black mascara, I probably should use brown, but I prefer my make-up a little more dramatic. Hope this helps!I've got sleepy/droopy eyes. How should i apply eyeshadow to reduce d droopiness/sleepiness of my eyes?
find a pretty shimmering white shadow for just under the brow. avoid colors that are too dark. do not apply mascara to bottom lashes. give that a try...I've got sleepy/droopy eyes. How should i apply eyeshadow to reduce d droopiness/sleepiness of my eyes?
Try this and you will be very happy. There is a yellow pencil made by NYC, which is a brand found in any major drugstore. Apply the pencil under your eyes before you put your makeup on. It does magic. Your eyes would look awake and gorgeous, no matter what kind of shadow you use. Also when you apply your eye liner, make sure that you draw the outer corners toward up versus down.
Firstly, conceal the area around your eyes with concealer.

Then, apply some compact powder very lightly on top of the concealer for a more smooth and even finish.

then you can go on with the eye shadow.

And if you don't want to use concealer, just make sure that you dont apply mascara on the lower lashes.
A shadow will not reduce droopy eyes. you need something like the timewise firming eye cream from mary kay..after that use a tad conceler to cover the darkness. Make sure you pat it around your eyes and do not rub. The skin around your eyes is very thin and you dont want to tug or pull on it. Follow up with a foundation that is right for your skin tone. Use a concealer a shade lighter than your skin tone under your eyes. This will help bring out your eyes a lot and of course, help hide the dark circles.
